Mark your calendars and save the date! On the evening of Saturday, May 6, 2017, the Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School will celebrate our 15th Annual Cornerstone Awards Dinner.

This special event includes a cocktail hour, dinner on the lawn, music and more!

The Cornerstone Award recognizes a leader in our community that exemplifies Outward Bound’s core values of compassion, integrity, excellence, diversity, and inclusion.

Cornerstone Awards Dinner sponsors support our mission of changing lives through challenge & discovery. All levels will gain exclusive access to the Challenge Course Experience for their guests, as well as the highlighted benefits below.

In 2017, Baltimore Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School unveils a dramatically-expanded Challenge Course in Leakin Park. Through the strategic development of one-day programs, we will increase our impact to serve over 20,000 local students on the course over the next three years. The experiences created for these students will prove to be a defining moment in their lives – where they discover what it means to overcome a challenge. Since not every student can go on an expedition, these moments here in Leakin Park become so much more valuable to the community we serve.

Without your support and generosity, none of this would be possible.

Funds from the Cornerstone Awards Dinner will support our organization’s ability to grow
and bring the best possible experience to each student that arrives at our campus.

Are you up for a challenge?! Help us break in our new High Ropes Challenge Course at this year’s Cornerstone Awards Dinner. Join other Outward Bound supporters, staff, and students in a fun set of challenges before the award ceremony. Crews will tackle a number of the 8 standalone elements on our Aerial Teams Course (ATC) before descending safely to the ground on our 100’ long zip line. This is a great opportunity to connect with the Outward Bound community and experience what thousands of students will feel when they participate in our program.

The ATC is part of 17 new elements that were added our Leakin Park Campus, for a total of 20 individual high and low rope challenges available for our day programs. This expansion will help increase the number of students we can serve, improve our program quality, and provide a truly unique experience for each and every group we serve.

Notice: Please wear appropriate footwear and comfortable clothes if you plan to participate. You will be required to wear a helmet and safety harness while on the ATC.
